Community involvement
Our school values strong partnership's with our families and community. We believe strong relationships and shared goals enhance the educational outcomes of all of our students. Parent's and Carers can get involved through our P&C or by volunteering at our school.
Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)
Our P&C is the backbone of our school community. They are central to shaping the values and priorities of the school community. The P&C represents parents and carers to give them a voice in decisions that affect student's learning, wellbeing and school culture.
The P&C provide many services to the school including:
- Canteen
- Uniform Shop
- Mother's and Father's Day Stall
- Mother's and Father's Day Celebrations
- Colour Run
Join our P&C
To become a financial member of our P&C costs $1.00 per year. Applications are available by emailing the secretary at pnc.shortlandpublic@gmail.com. Two meetings are held per term.
Our P&C Executive for 2025 is:

- Treasurer - Liz Witt
- Secretary - Maree Gilchrist
P&C Meetings
Shortland Public School P&C Meetings are held twice per term. They are held on a Thursday in weeks 3 and 8. Your attendance at our P&C meetings is warmly encouraged.
Volunteer at our School
Getting involved at Shortland Public School is a wonderful way to support our students and be part of our school community.
There are many ways you can volunteer your time and skills, including:
- Helping in the canteen
- Getting involved with the P&C
- Assisting on sports days and at other school events
